Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on the machine configuration, the ZOLLER »redomatic« can measure tools with a maximum length of 600 mm to 1000 mm and a maximum diameter of 420 mm to 800 mm.

To address this, we have developed a special ejection function that uses the »asza« automatic length stop system to eject the broken shank tool.

The ZOLLER »redomatic 600« MST was specifically developed for the automated measurement, adjustment, and shrinking of shank tools in MST shrink chucks.

The service life depends on the manufacturer and can be found in our database. Our ZOLLER coil heats your chuck very gently to maximize its service life and reduces your energy costs by up to 30%.

Once you have inserted the shrink-fit chuck, the »masterPiece« setting adapter, and the tool into the »redomatic«, the length stop is automatically adjusted to match the target tool length. This ensures an accuracy of less than 10 μm when setting the target length. The repeatability during measurement is the same for »the redomatic« as for other ZOLLER setting and measuring devices and is a maximum of 2 μm.

You have the option of choosing between our automatic induction coil with the »varOct« shielding system and the manual version with shielding discs. Both coils are available in a 14 kVA model. The coil with shielding discs is optionally available as a 22 kVA coil for shrinking larger shrink-fit diameters from D40 mm to D50 mm and reinforced shrink-fit sleeves (thicker walls).

Using our »pilot 4.0« image processing software, all measurement and shrinkage parameters can be saved and retrieved in a matter of seconds—for example, via the ZOLLER »idChip«. This ensures a clean and error-free process.

Your device should be placed on a concrete base or similar surface with a maximum unevenness of 2 mm. The installation site should be equipped with compressed air, an electrical outlet, and a network connection. The device should be protected from direct sunlight, cold or warm air currents, magnetic fields, and vibrations to prevent measurement errors.

On our side unit, all components for the shrinking process are clearly and ergonomically arranged. This provides operators with a comfortable working environment. On the »redomatic 600« model, the »sls« shrinking guidance system on the side unit additionally uses LED indicators to highlight the correct component for the upcoming step. To make the shrinking process even simpler and safer, both the »redomatic 400« and the »redomatic 600« are available with the »coolbyLight« operator guidance system, which uses a color-coded LED system to guide the user through the cooling process.

Using our automatic length stop system, »asza«, the tool can be held in the desired position during the shrink-fitting process, maintaining a tolerance of 10 µm on the overall length.

The entire process—from shrinking and cooling to the final measurement of a shaft tool—takes approximately 2 to 3 minutes and depends on the tool type, diameter, etc.

We offer a variety of adjustment pins in our product range, which can be selected as needed. The device uses the LED-controlled user interface of the »sls« shrink-wrapping system on the side unit to clearly indicate exactly which pin you need to use. The pins are easily and conveniently screwed in using a threaded connection, allowing them to be changed in just a few seconds.

The »swomp« (shrinking without »masterPiece«) measuring program makes it possible to quickly and reliably shrink-fit all types of drilling tools to a specific target length. It does not matter whether the tool is new or has been reground. During the shrinking process, the »asza« automatic length stop system is prepositioned, the shrinking chuck is heated, and the tool length is set with high precision without an adjustment adapter.
