Bees

There are five bee colonies on the ZOLLER premises. They are cared for by an experienced beekeeper. The presence of bees supports the health of local ecosystems. Bees enhance biodiversity not only by pollinating plants themselves but also by attracting other pollinators.

Use of multi-packaging

In 2024, our products were shipped in reusable containers or packaging. We use reusable packaging (cloth bags) instead of plastic packaging. Cloth bags are more durable and highly reusable, unlike PE bubble wrap.

Paperless Office

25%

Thanks to digital processes in ABAS and ELO, we reduce our paper consumption every year. In 2024, consumption was reduced by 25% on a per-employee basis.

Green energy

Compared to Germany’s national electricity mix in 2023, we reduced our electricity consumption in 2024. By using only renewable electricity, we avoided 404 metric tons of CO2e emissions.

Service locations

ZOLLER has service locations throughout Germany. This results in short distances, reduced travel times and costs, lower emissions, and ultimately high customer satisfaction.

Seedballs

We give away seed balls containing plant seeds to customers and suppliers. We have already distributed about 1,750 of them. Seed balls are a great way to create green spaces and increase biodiversity.

Full LED lighting in the new building (renovation planned for the existing building)

LED lighting uses significantly less energy and has a longer lifespan. This also means lower maintenance costs. In addition, LED bulbs contain no harmful substances, such as mercury, and are fully recyclable.

Green roof on the new building

A green roof improves thermal insulation and soundproofing. It can also store rainwater. In addition, it creates habitats for plants and animals, promotes biodiversity, and helps to positively influence the local climate.

Waste separation (paper, plastic, general waste, wood, electronic waste, and wood)

Waste separation helps conserve valuable raw materials by ensuring that each material can be efficiently recycled and reused. 

Reforestation around the company premises (35 trees)

Trees promote biodiversity and improve air quality by filtering pollutants from the air. This significantly reduces particulate matter.

ZOLLER's appeal to customers and employees is increasing.

Use of electric forklifts

Electric forklifts produce no emissions, which improves indoor air quality and helps reduce the environmental footprint. They have lower operating costs compared to diesel or gas-powered forklifts, as ZOLLER purchases green electricity and also feeds electricity back into the grid via solar panels. This also reduces maintenance requirements, as there is no longer a need to inspect gas cylinders. Furthermore, electric forklifts are significantly quieter, which contributes to a more pleasant working environment.

Water and electricity are used more efficiently, and consumption occurs only when needed.

Switch to the eco-friendly all-purpose cleaner Liquid Green for installation and service

Eco-friendly cleaners do not contain harmful chemicals; they are made from natural ingredients that break down easily in the environment and leave no harmful residues. Switching to eco-friendly cleaners can also inspire others to act in a more environmentally conscious way.

Diesel company vehicles are being phased out one by one and replaced with electric vehicles. Currently, there are 7 of them.

Electric cars produce no CO₂e emissions while driving, which leads to better air quality and a smaller carbon footprint. They are a future-proof investment, as they comply with increasingly stringent environmental regulations.

Retrofit options are also available for significantly older measuring devices

Only the electronics and, in some cases, the electrical components need to be replaced. The mechanical parts can be reused. This results in greater sustainability and lower energy consumption compared to manufacturing a new measuring device. In addition, customer satisfaction increases due to the cost savings achieved.

ZOLLER Technology Delivers Sustainability for Customers

Tools can be sharpened and reground for long-term use, reducing the need to manufacture new ones. This lowers material costs and the energy required to produce new tools.

Measuring and testing equipment is calibrated in-house at ZOLLER

The rolling system offers significant potential for savings in packaging and shipping costs. ZOLLER is an accredited calibration laboratory in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17025:2018 and a member of the DKD.

Bike Leasing Offer for Employees

A company bike can enhance ZOLLER’s appeal and serve as an additional selling point for recruitment and employee retention. Providing a company bike offers tax benefits and has a positive impact on non-wage labor costs. Furthermore, it promotes environmentally friendly and healthy mobility.

Reducing paper consumption.

VCI bags as a replacement for oils and greases for corrosion protection

VCI bags are reusable and recyclable, making them a sustainable choice. They provide long-term corrosion protection. Unlike oil, they do not require any special handling and leave little to no residue.

Expo shuttle service by train and bus (included in the exhibitor pass)

Public transportation reduces CO₂e emissions and helps lower air pollution, as it produces fewer greenhouse gases per person than private vehicles. It is also often safer than cars, as it is operated by professional drivers and must comply with strict safety standards. It also helps alleviate traffic congestion.

Garden on the company grounds with a dry stone wall and a pile of stones

The company grounds feature a garden of approximately 450 square meters with a 45-meter-long dry stone wall, as well as several carefully arranged stone piles. Employees can spend their breaks in this garden, which helps reduce stress, promote well-being, and enhance relaxation. The dry stone wall serves as a valuable refuge for many endangered species. These animals all require small crevices in vertical slopes or between stones, and the arranged stone piles help promote biodiversity.

Weighing and measuring food portions

By weighing the portions, it is easier to estimate the quantity of food to order for lunch, which means that food no longer has to be thrown away and disposed of.
