Frequently Asked Questions

The first key requirement is a suitable scanner capable of scanning the DataMatrix code. To manage tool data, you need the appropriate software. ZOLLER offers both with »zidCode 4.0« and the TMS Tool Management Solutions software.

Yes, that’s possible at any time. Simply contact our sales department if you’d like to equip your tools with the ZOLLER »idChip«.

We recommend »idLabel« primarily for non-rotating tools and fixtures. For rotating tools, the »idChip« is the better choice. It is secured in the holder, where it is protected yet still clearly visible. You can easily attach the »idChip« using two-component adhesive. You can purchase this from us or obtain it from other suppliers.

When it comes to tool holders, ZOLLER works closely with Schüssler as a partner. Schüssler manufactures the tool holders, while ZOLLER supplies the »idChip« and makes purchasing tool holders easy, fast, and convenient through the new ZOLLER web shop.

When the heating and cooling processes from ZOLLER Tooling Solutions are carried out correctly, these tool holders can be used for more than 10,000 shrink-fit cycles without any loss of accuracy for tool holders with a bore diameter of more than 6 mm. For diameters of 5 mm and below, the limit is 5,000 cycles.

Proper processing through heating and cooling is supported by ZOLLER »actbyLight« technology to ensure the correct and safe execution of the shrink cycles.

Balanced tool holders increase productivity. The benefits of using balanced tool holders are evident in many areas of the machining process. Longer tool and spindle life, as well as increased material removal rates, are just a few of the factors that can significantly reduce production costs.

ZOLLER Tooling Solutions have a GPL holder length of 200 mm (overhang length A).

ZOLLER Tooling Solutions also offers ER collet chucks that can be balanced. For the balancing process, the lock nut is installed and a master pin is used to simulate the cutting tool.

ZOLLER uses heat-resistant tool steel to manufacture the collets for its ZOLLER Tooling Solutions.

No other clamping system can match the holding force, concentricity, and performance of a shrink-fit interface. Since shrink-fit holders do not require collets, collet nuts, or set screws, the shank diameters can be very slim, allowing even hard-to-reach areas to be machined.

The tolerance for the shank of the cutting tool should be h5 or h6.

Orders can be placed online via the ZOLLER MYZOLLER portal. Online orders can currently be placed in Germany and the United States. In other countries, customers can select the toolholder via the MYZOLLER portal, send the generated item list to their regional ZOLLER sales representatives, and request a quote.

If the tool holders are ordered with ZOLLER »idChip« or other RFID chips, they are balanced with the chips installed.

You can check the stock availability of ZOLLER Tooling Solutions online at any time via the web shop.
