ZOLLER will premiere its latest automation and new micro-tool inspection systems and showcase its complete system of manufacturing-efficiency solutions at IMTS 2026 in Chicago.
In addition to presenting the new ZOLLER »micBox« and »pomBasic MTI«, ZOLLER will display its range of tool presetting, inspection, measuring, heat-shrinking, balancing, tooling, tool management, data-transfer and automation technologies at Booth W-432018.
ZOLLER’s show theme “Smart. Manufacturing. Made Simple.” will demonstrate how the company’s system of integrated solutions can improve efficiency for manufacturers of every size and in almost every industry vertical.
“For more than 80 years, ZOLLER has been a pioneer in developing technology to optimize processes around cutting tools,” said Alexander Zoller, President of ZOLLER Inc. “Today, we are proud to provide a complete roadmap to efficient manufacturing from CAM to finished part that can benefit manufacturers in every market segment.”
Below are highlights IMTS attendees can experience at ZOLLER’s booth:
Automation
Making its world premiere at IMTS 2026, the ZOLLER »micBox« fully automates indexable insert handling on milling tools, including tool identification, insert indexing, rotating, flipping, replacement and fastening-screw changes. With optional AI-supported »wearCheck«, the system evaluates each cutting edge and determines whether an insert should remain in use, be indexed or replaced. ZOLLER will also demonstrate the modular »roboBox« for automated tool preparation and the »coraMeasure LG«, which combines robotic handling with a ZOLLER »venturion« for automated tool measuring. Together, these solutions reduce manual workload, improve process reliability and support autonomous tool preparation and measurement.
Tool Heat Shrinking and Balancing
ZOLLER’s »powerShrink« heat-shrinking solution and »toolBalancer« balancing system will be featured at IMTS 2026. The »powerShrink« can heat-shrink tools in less than 60 seconds, thanks to its unique induction coil. This design shortens cycle times, conserves toolholder life, and uses 30 percent less energy. The »toolBalancer« balances toolholders, tool assemblies, and grinding wheels within 0.4 gram millimeters. This supports smooth machining, protects the CNC machine, extends tool life, and contributes to a better surface finish.
Tool Management
Live demonstrations of ZOLLER TMS Tool Management Solutions software and storage solutions will be available throughout IMTS 2026.
A team of ZOLLER experts will be on hand to advise manufacturers on deployment roadmaps for total tool management and share best practices for implementing connected, transparent, and efficient toolroom processes.
Toolholders
ZOLLER toolholders, a recent addition to the company’s portfolio, will also be highlighted at IMTS.
Consistently rated above DIN requirements, ZOLLER CAT, CATD, BT, BTD, HSK, PSC, and high-performance toolholders are fine-balanced to G2.5 at 25,000 rpm or to a maximum unbalance of less than 1 gram millimeter. This protects the spindle, maximizes tool life, and delivers improved milling surface quality.
ZOLLER toolholders also feature a chip pocket for attaching an RFID chip or the ZOLLER »zidChip«, enabling manufacturers to track tooling data and support connected tool-management processes.
Data Transfer
ZOLLER will demonstrate its expanded »z.DMI« technology for direct communication with a wide range of CNC machine-tool controls. The ZOLLER direct machine interface provides a secure and reliable method for transferring tool data from a presetting and measuring machine to numerous CNC machine-tool controls all without stopping the machine. ZOLLER’s »zidCode 4.0« networked communication platform transfers tool data both to the machine-tool control and back to the ZOLLER database. This two-way communication supports real-time tool-life monitoring, data transparency, and complete tool traceability. ZOLLER has developed interfaces with Heidenhain, Siemens, FANUC, Matsuura, and Makino CNC machine-tool controls, with additional interfaces continuing to be developed.
Tool Presetting, Inspection and Measuring
Also making its world premiere at IMTS 2026 is the new ZOLLER »pomBasic MTI«. MTI stands for Micro Tool Inspection and offers a compact, production-integrated solution for inspecting and measuring micro-tools.
A special high-resolution micro-camera with coaxial lighting enables the precise inspection of even the smallest tools. Its zoom lens captures micro-tools in extreme detail across a magnification range of 125x to 1250x.
ZOLLER will also showcase a range of established tool presetting, inspection, and measuring solutions at IMTS 2026, including the »smile«, »venturion« and »redomatic« machines. Designed to support manufacturers at every level of production, ZOLLER solutions provide precise tool measurement, inspection, and reliable tool data before tools reach the machine. Together, ZOLLER’s tool presetting, inspection, and measuring technologies help manufacturers reduce setup times, eliminate manual data-entry errors, improve process reliability, and ensure that accurate tool data reaches the machine before production begins.
ZOLLER Toolroom of the Year Competition Award
ZOLLER will also celebrate excellence in toolroom technology at IMTS 2026 through the North American ZOLLER Toolroom of the Year competition.
The competition recognizes ZOLLER customers that demonstrate outstanding achievement in toolroom organization, connectivity, interfaces, and the implementation of advanced technologies. It highlights companies that are using integrated systems and intelligent processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and productivity throughout the tool lifecycle.
The 2026 winners will be announced on Thursday September 17th at 3.30 PM at the ZOLLER booth.
