By early June 2026, the price had skyrocketed to around 2,560 euros and experts say the price situation is unlikely to change much in the medium term.

According to 2023 figures from the European Commission, the recycling rate for tungsten stood at 42 percent, and a recent statement by the European Cutting Tools Association (ECTA) says available facilities are operating at near full capacity.
